I know I’m almost too late with this post but I figured I would share what I think are good gift ideas for guitar players. The problem with buying gifts for a guitarist is that are usually picky about the gear. I’m going to recommend some items that just about any guitarist could use.

A great stocking stuffer is a bulk assortment of picks. Go to Ebay and search for “bulk guitar pick” or “guitar pick lot”.

Another great idea are instructional books or DVD’s. At Musicians Friend there is a series of DVD’s bay a company called “Rock House”. Just search for “Rock House DVD”. I have a few of these dvds and they are excellent.

The Vox amPlug is a great headphone amp for $40. Any guitarist would like to have this in there arsenal.

T-Shirts that say “Marshall”, “Fender” or whatever brand of guitar or amp they play are also pretty safe bets.

Last Christmas I bought the OSP DD-502 drum set on Ebay From Sigler Music

Many people have questioned the quality of this kit compared to the more expensive Roland or Yamaha Kits. I’m happy to report that my kit is still going strong. It gets played almost daily and believe me it is not babied. I can’t say how the kit would survive on the road but if you’re looking for a digital drum kit for home use I still would recommend this kit.

You may be wondering what’s up with all the Eddie Van Halen photoshopped pictures. There is an epic thread at Harmony Central that feautures user submitted photoshops pf EVH. It started in May 2006 and currently has over 5300 replies. It is similar to a Fark.com photoshop contest. I submitted some of my own works as well.

A few months ago the mods deleted the thread. Needless to say a lot of HCAF people were pissed. They were wondering if anyone had saved the pics locally. The thread was restored. Howver I knew there was a chance it could be deleted again. I finally got off my ass and tried to save what I could using the Firefox plugin called scrapbook.

I couldn’t save who actually created the images. If you are one of the people that created an image and want some credit give me a shout. As you can see there is some amazing work here.
