Thick distortion for the metal head (me) ive been playing actively with the band for 7 years and have seen alot of variety. Mesa, B52 (my last amp), 6505, Line 6, Marshall are all are great sounding but the price may not be right for some. Look to the Bugera 333XL for a great sounding amp for the working mans budget. Its REALLY loud and likes to be pushed. My last amp (B52 AT 100) had similar tones, not as refined and couldn't handle being pushed with the amount of gain i like (lots) being driven by active p/u (seymour duncan active Blackouts). Now my tone is the talk of the venue with this great amp head. dont be fooled by bigger names, this baby does a stellar job live or at home.

Nearly all of whatever you state happens to be supprisingly accurate and that makes me wonder the reason why I hadn't looked at this with this light previously. This article truly did switch the light on for me personally as far as this subject matter goes. But at this time there is one particular point I am not too cozy with and whilst I try to reconcile that with the actual central idea of the point, allow me see what the rest of your subscribers have to point out.Nicely done.

Cracker of an Amp. I got my 333xl for 850.00 AUD, and I wil never sell it. I've played Soldanos, Marshall, Dr Z, Hiwatt, you name it. This by far pisses on them money wise and tone wise. The clean channel is unobtainable on any other Amp I've played at low volumes. Warmth to boot also. I'm a pro player, and this nonsense about not gigging with it is ridiculous. I bring two heads to each gig just in case anyway, regardless of Brand or track records. This is what pro players do: Have a plan B. Little fags who are posting shit about this amp, grow some nuts and do your homework. If Daddy buys you a fucking Mesa that's great, he just wasted $4 K Plus on your rockstar fantasies. Buy this Amp, and most importantly, look after it. It will do the same for you.

I've had this amp for a little over a year and love it! a couple LEDs are out/flashing, but thats an easy fix. Everything else is great. I replaced the El34's with 6L6's just for fun and the bias knob comes in handy. One thing i dont like is when you kick in the effects loop (I have just a crappy RP50 which i will be replacing with something better soon) the volume isnt as loud as it could be. Thats ok with me since the lead and crunch channels are way too loud for thier own good! Overall it is a great amp and at a great price.

This is the 23rd amp I have owned in 30 years of playing. I have always loved Marshalls (and still do), having owned a number of their tube amps. But I have to say, this amp sounds better than any amp I have ever played including Marshall, Mesa, Fender, Orange, Peavey, Roland, Traynor, Trace-Elliot, (and many more). The 4 button footswitch is perfect for playing anything and everything. Need a little extra volume or gain? Tap the Effects Loop / Boost switch. No need for a volume pedal. Need to play in the studio or bedroom? Flip on the XL switches (I never turn them off), and this amp has all the tone and harmonics and flavor of any amp at any volume. Try that with a Boogie or a Marshall and it ain't happening. You have to crank them to auditory damaging levels to get astounding tone like this amp does anywhere from whisper quiet to full blown 120 pentode watts. Not only is this amp the steal of the century, it sounds better than all the rest. I have owned this amp for two years and about a year ago I left it on in standby mode overnight (apparently I am an idiot). When I tried to play through it, the lights were all on, but no sound came out. I checked the tubes and they were not lit up. I pulled the case off and found that the plastic power connector had melted and no power was getting to the output tubes. I took the plastic connector off, soldered the wires directly to the power buss and in less than an hour it was back up and running 100%. A boutique amp probably would not have used a plastic connector, but I can't blame the amp for the abuse of leaving it on overnight. It was easy to fix and it sounds fantastic. So, if you are a kid that doesn't understand where money comes from, or you believe a particular brand makes you cooler, or if you don't know how to tweak tone controls or maintain an amp, then DO NOT BUY THIS AMP! But, if you are looking for an amp that can do it all (and I truly mean that), and want to sound better than everything else that is out there, and need the flexibility to play any style of music - buy this amp yesterday.
